Test4A is a rapid, point-of-care test that provides a quantitative measure of Vitamin A (retinol) levels in blood, using NanoSpeed’s “cube reader” technology
Vitamin A is essential for vision, immune function, skin health, and cellular growth. Deficiency can cause symptoms like night blindness, dry skin, poor wound healing, or increased susceptibility to infections. The test helps assess vitamin A nutritional status.
It is intended for adults who show symptoms or have risk factors for vitamin A deficiency (e.g. night blindness, skin issues, malabsorption disorders, restrictive diets, liver disease).
Collect a small drop of blood (finger-prick) using the lancet. Transfer the blood onto the test cassette using the pipette. Add the buffer as instructed. Insert the cassette into the cube reader. The device displays the vitamin A concentration (in µmol/L) within about 10 minutes.
The test can quantitatively measure Vitamin A in the range 0.25 to 4.0 µmol/L.
You get the result in approximately 10 minutes from applying the blood sample.
